OUR APPROACH

Learning & Sharing

Through this approach, we contribute to filling the gap in youth research and data on our priority areas, relying heavily on our nationwide partnership base, and the tapping of qualified research professionals from within and outside Uganda. The outcomes of our research form the basis for effective programming and delivery. Through collaboration with various national and international institutions, we continue to contribute to the knowledge-base on youth development programming by publishing our research reports alongside guidelines, toolkits, manuals, and policy briefs, and disseminating them widely to all relevant stakeholders including government, civil society organizations, private sector companies, among others.

Training & Capacity Development

Training and Capacity Building have been key to all our programmes at NYE. we aim at training  thousands and thousands of young people in skills ranging from personal development skills, advocacy, project planning, campaigning and career skills etc. We hope to expand this approach to cover more areas of skills development, including professional and accredited training in existing and emerging areas.

Advocacy & Campaigning

Advocacy and Campaigning remain an important approach in carrying out our work at NYE. We continue to use our national appeal and grassroots constituency base to advocate and campaign for pro-poor, youth-inclusive policies and programmes at all levels.

Service Delivery

We deliver services that empower youth succeed in becoming life-long learners, productive members of society, materially sufficient and self-respecting citizens. Our service delivery programmes are mainly focused on the nexus between education and employment. This approach emphasises the need to help young people get access to the formal and informal education, skills training, and technical support that they require in order to achieve a transition to formal or informal, self or wage employment.
